EU citizens as well as citizens of Switzerland may freely enter Denmark and for a period of up to 3 months without an EU residence permit and job-seekers may reside in Denmark for up to 6 months without a registration certificate.
If you expect that your stay in Denmark will last more than 3 months, you must apply for an EU residence permit and this document serves as your proof of residency. The permit is not issued for a specific duration and will remain valid for as long as the conditions on which it was issued apply.
Citizens of Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden are free to reside, study and work in Denmark and do not need to apply for a visa, residence or work permit.
